Mission

New York City is still recovering from Superstorm Sandy more than 4 years after the flood.

Throughout neighborhoods in the boroughs: Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, as well as parts of Bronx and Lower Manhattan, homes sit unmitigated and in need. Some have been repaired or partially repaired. Some are inhabited and some are not.

Insurance companies, FEMA, government programs including NY Rising and Build It Back have not accomplished enough. People and property remain at risk when the next storm hits.

This is not a remote chance; it is a near certainty based on historical data and scientific consensus.

SafeHome is being planned as a possible new initiative on the part of NYC building professionals to mobilize in neighborhoods and begin a new process to create STORM SAFE HOMES FOR NEW YORK CITY!
